Kate Beckinsale has returned to the Underworld (and skintight leather). The actress originated the character of Selene in the franchise's first two films and skipped out for the third, but now she's back for the fourth installment, Underworld: Awakening. This time, Selene has woken from a coma-like state after 12 years to find a couple of disturbing developments: first, she has a teen daughter somewhere in the world, and second, humans are now aware of vampires and Lycans and waging an all-out war against them.
The intense trailer shows off the violent nature of the vampire/Lycan/human war as well as a fiercer-than-ever Selene as she hunts for her child. I know I wouldn't mess with her. Watch the trailer for the film, which will of course be in 3D when it comes out on Jan. 20, 2012, when you read more.
