I prefer the 2006 BBC version with Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens. They were the best!

Rent. I am rather choosy when it comes to which movies I decide to see in theaters.

I'm not as keen of big movie adaptations for the reason of time. The book never quite gets explored, so I'll stick to BBC and Masterpiece Theater. ...a younger Rochester is nice though. I always find Jane Eyre so hard to watch because of the huge age gap. Jane is such a mature character that it's not as in your face in the book as it is on screen. Have you even read Jane Erye Anon 5, my guess is you haven't. It falls under gothic fiction that isn't traditional "proper" romance. Temptation, horror and all that are incorporated to create a more provocative story. Also you's have to be 12 to assume the reviewer is suggesting the movie be all about sex. Sexual tension can be found in all sorts of romance, especially one as tumultuous as theirs, and there are many different ways to express it. You can have heat and tension in the passing of a note if the chemistry and scene is set right.

you want to know the best adaptation of this story in which you will fall in LOVE with Mr. Rochester to the point of wanting to stalk Ciaran hinds? Yes, that's right, the A&E Jane Eyre with Samantha morton!!!!!!!
Why does everything have to have sexual heat in it. it's Jane Eyre. it's decent. it's suppose to be proper. Aren't there enough sleazy movies out there for you to get your satisfaction out of? God, this really pisses me off. Not everything is suppose to be about SEX. It's a romance novel. ROMANCE!!!!!!

Even if there are some problems with this adaptation, I'm still excited to see if because JE is a story that never gets boring. Unfortunately, its not currently showing in my area, so I may very well have to wait until its on DVD.

The problem with this story is that it's been adapted sooooo many times, each one sacrificing some part of the long book to put it into a workable screen time. I don't mind having seen it least 4 of the adaptations to date. But I am hard pushed to see another. Especially after the 2006 BBC version with Ruth Wilson and Toby Stephens in the title roles. Talk about chemistry!
